A Simple Spring Skincare Guide for Glowing Skin
The Dos and Don’ts of Spring Skincare: Maintain Clear, Glowing Skin All Year Round
Warm weather is slowly making its way back into our lives. This means that the harsh, cold, and dry air that takes the moisture out of our skin is leaving. So what does this mean for our skin and our skincare routines?
To navigate the change in seasons and the change in your routine, we’ve put together a spring skincare routine dos and don’ts list.
Do…
✔ Switch to a lighter face moisturizer
Your skin doesn’t need the same heavy-duty moisturizer it did in the winter. Our Perfect Skin Serum and Radiant Glow Elixir offer lighter hydration.
✔ Start using sunscreen
As you spend more time outside and the sun becomes stronger, adding a sunscreen or SPF product into your skincare routine is essential. It protects your skin from the harmful UV rays of the sun.
Don’t forget to throw your sunscreen into your bag when you head out. Sunscreen should be reapplied every 2-3 hours.
✔ Spring clean your skincare collection and your makeup products
Spring cleaning can extend to your beauty routine too. Places like InStyle and Real Simple recommend using this time of year to sort through your skincare shelves and makeup bags and get rid of products past their expiration date.
✔ Continue to do a daily skincare routine
Continue to use a face cleanser, toner and moisturizer (we lovingly refer to minimal skincare routine as our CTMs). This will keep your skin balanced and free of breakouts and acne.
✔ Add in spring scents to your routine
Our fave fruity and floral-infused items: Rose Water Face Mist, Chamomile Hydration Mist, Rose Revive Face Serum, Jasmine Body Butter, Vanilla Body Butter, Lavender Body Butter, and Berry Body Butter.
✔ Add in illuminating skin products that reveal your natural glow and add to a fresh, dewy look
Our skin brightening faves include our Skin Revive Brightening Night Serum, Lemon Brightening Oil, and Radiant Glow Elixir. These products are rich in omega fatty acids and vitamins to illuminate your skin, leaving it with a radiant glow.
Don’t…
✖ Stop moisturizing
Moisturizing helps your skin stay balanced to avoid breaking out or becoming dry. Make sure to keep this step in your daily skincare routine.
✖ Over exfoliate
Even though dry winter skin might like exfoliating, be gentle with exfoliating as the weather changes. A gently exfoliating option is our Tea Tree Face Mask. It gently removes dead skin while also offering hydration ingredients like aloe vera.
✖ Keep going with skin “slugging”
InStyle suggests this be left for harsh winter weather. A lightweight moisturizer should suffice for the spring weather.
A K-beauty trend has taken over the beauty and skincare world. The trend? Skin slugging. Usually done with vaseline, slugging is the last step in a skincare routine. You use vaseline to lock in products and moisture. But, according to Stylist what you may not know is, you can also slug your skin with shea butter. Like vaseline or petroleum jelly, shea butter is occlusive meaning it stops hydration from leaving your skin. Applying this natural butter to your skin as the final step of your skincare routine locks in hydration from your serums and toners. It keeps your skin hydrated and glowing during the dry winter months. |
These simple dos and don’ts for spring will help you maintain your clear and glowing skin during this transitional time of year.
