Karite tree which begins to bear fruit after about 15 years; and can take up to 30 years to bear a quality crop of nuts with a high content of irremovable fatty acid.  Yes, you heard that right! And it is also yellow in color when raw.

As we all know it is widely used in cosmetics as moisturizers lotion or oil even but what we didn’t know is Shea butter is edible and is used in food preparation in Africa.
